CAREER OPPORTUNITIES IN THE PHARMA SCIENCES

Over the years, pharmaceutical scientists have been instrumental in discovering and developing innovative drugs that save thousands of people’s lives and improve the quality of life for many others. Pharmaceutical scientists can pursue a variety of jobs. They are employed by pharmaceutical companies, they work as pharmacists, doctors, and as researchers and professors at universities, as regulatory scientists for agencies like the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and as researchers at national laboratories such as the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

2 Years Program

The combination of biomedical and pharmaceutical science and clinical expertise in drug use in a pharmacy degree prepares pharmacy graduates for work in a variety of fields. Graduates work as pharmacists in the community or in hospitals. Many pharmacists are involved in preparing and preparing documentation on the efficacy and safety of new drugs (required for marketing drug regulatory approval). Pharmacists are involved extensively in the manufacturing, research, quality control, and marketing of pharmaceuticals. They are also employed in government health departments where they may be involved in the regulation and approval of new pharmaceutical products.

B.Pharm

4 Years Program

The Bachelor of Pharmacy degree is popularly known as B-Pharm in India. It is a four-year program with both annual and semester schemes available. To be eligible, one must pass with at least 50% marks in 10 + 2 (or an equivalent examination) with Mathematics as one of the subjects.
